Product Shot 1The Actiontec FMC3000 is a wireless cell phone signal amplifier that relies on an existing cable or DSL internet connection and an existing Wi-Fi network. Whenever the FMC3000 detects that the cellular signal has dropped below a certain level, as determined by the cell provider, it automatically switches calls over from the nationwide cell network to the local Wi-Fi network, using the Internet as the medium for sending the call.

Essentially, it automatically switches between wireless VoIP and wireless cell phone provider to provide maximum cell service inside a building. The FMC3000 can be used as either a standalone wireless router, a wireless access point for existing ethernet networks, a wireless adapter for cable or DSL modems, or as a secondary wireless network added to an existing router. In all of these modes, the FMC3000 still provides the call-switching functionality in order to improve cell signal.
