Linksys WRT150N-RM

$50.00 Released March, 2007

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Generally works great out of the box, just plugs in and starts working. Can work as the main router or to just extend an existing network. Serves as a straight-forward wired router when the ports are used, no surprises in configuration.

The Cons:Susceptible to occasional lock-ups that require power cycling. No free phone support for refurbished Linksys products.

The Linksys WRT150N-RM is a refurbished wireless home router, and in fact an exact copy of the original WRT150N. Like its new peer, the WRT150N-RM allows for both broadband and wireless connections. It features a wireless access point, a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 switch, and a Router function that ties it all together and allows an entire network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.

Plus, the WRT150N-RM utilizes MIMO technology, which uses multiple radios to create a strong signal cited as traveling 3 times further and therefore reducing dead spots. In fact, the WRT150N-RM is known to travel up to 9 times faster than Wireless-G, although it can in fact work with both Wireless-G and –B devices. Additional features of the Linksys WRT150N-RM wireless router include 256-bit encryption, the ability to serve as a network DHCP server, and a powerful SPI firewall. The Linksys WRT150N-RM retails for $49.95 and comes with a 1 year limited warranty.
