The SMC SMCWBR14-G2 is a 54Mbps, Cable/DSL Barricade router designed for securely connecting to and then sharing a high-speed Cable or DSL connection, wired or wirelessly. Once connected to a modem, the user can utilize the router’s 802.11g interface (802.11b compliant) to wirelessly stream content throughout a family home or business office.

Or—if they so desire—they can setup a LAN via four 10/100 Ethernet ports. In general, the SMCWBR14-G2 is not engineered for heavy-duty wireless streaming—such as HD videos or high-bandwidth Internet games. It is, however, perfect for casual browsing, emailing, and business-terminal use. Plus, the SMC SMCWBR14-G2 allows for VPN tunneling directly into a corporate network.
